Hot cross buns are the quintessential easter treat for me after spending three years in Australia, and of course that also means I'll make hot cross-flavoured breakfast foods every day for the weeks leading up to easter! This hot cross oatmeal has all the flavour but is still filling enough to count as a proper breakfast that'll actually keep you satisfied throughout the day. Enjoy!
Ingredients
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp allspice
1/4 tsp ginger
40g quick oats
200g soy milk
10g vanilla protein powder (optional, can sub for a splash of maple syrup and vanilla extract)
40g mashed banana
Method
Add all ingredients to a pot and simmer until it reaches your desired texture. Top with granola, raisins, nut butter, maple syrup and chocolate.
