(ad) Apple Crumble

It's going towards fall and that means I'm craving all the apple themed desserts! This apple crumble I made in collaboration with Nature's Charm is super simple and yet so dang delicious I would make it almost every night (if I wasn't also busy testing new recipes). So what are you waiting for? Make a quick run to the grocery store for some apples and get cooking!

Ingredients

1.5kg unpeeled/1kg peeled and chopped green apples

3tbsp cornstarch

2tbsp lemon juice

1tsp cinnamon

1tsp cardamom

120g Nature's Charm condensed coconut milk

30g granulated sugar

Crumble: 100g oats

185g flour

100g granulated sugar

50 brown sugar

140g dairy free butter

a pinch of salt

Method Preheat your oven to 200 degrees C Peel and chop your apples into somewhat even 1-2cm cubes. Add to a bowl along with the cinnamon, cardamom, lemon juice, cornstarch, condensed coconut milk and 30g granulated sugar. Stir to evenly combine before transferring to an oven safe dish. In another bowl, add your oats, flour, 100g granulated sugar, brown sugar and salt and stir until evenly combined. Add cubes of dairy free butter and stir through the mixture until it resembles wet sand. Sprinkle the oat/flour mixture on top of the apples to evenly cover. Place the dish on the middle rack of the oven and bake for 40 minutes at 200 degrees C. Remove and let it rest for at least 10 minutes before serving with either whipped cream, coconut yoghurt, custard or ice cream.
